This policy explains how Leadsource International Manager Limited (NZBN 9429047325371), trading as Alternative Business Loans Online ("we", "us", "our") handles personal and business information when you use this website or enquire about business funding. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 2020 and its information privacy principles.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to understand your goal and help arrange suitable business funding. Depending on your enquiry, that may include:

your name, phone number, email address and role in the business;
business details such as your NZBN, company number, IRD number, trading name, structure, industry, region, trading history and turnover;
what you want to fund, how much it costs, how much of it you can already cover and when you need the money;
details of any property or assets you may offer as security, including existing lending against them;
your tax position, including any amounts owed to Inland Revenue and any instalment arrangement;
identification, bank statements, financial statements and details of existing debts;
credit information, once you decide to proceed; and
information about others connected to the application, such as co-directors, partners, trustees or guarantors.

Most of this comes directly from you through our enquiry form, by phone or by email. We also record how you reached the site (for example the first page you landed on and the page you enquired from) so we can see which content helps people. With your authorisation we may obtain information from credit reporters, identity and bank-statement verification services, public registers such as the Companies Office, the NZBN register and Land Information New Zealand, and advisers you nominate, such as your accountant or lawyer.

How we use it

to respond to your enquiry and talk with you about your funding mix;
to assess and arrange business funding with the lender best suited to your situation — we don't send your details to a long list of lenders;
to verify your identity and the information you provide;
to meet our legal obligations, including anti-money laundering requirements where they apply;
to run our business, keep records, deal with complaints and improve this website; and
to tell you about other business funding options that may suit you — you can opt out at any time.

Who we share it with

To arrange funding we may share information with the lender and any funders involved in your application, related finance businesses that assess and settle business loans, credit reporters (only once you choose to proceed), verification providers, valuers for property-secured funding, lawyers and other professional advisers, our technology and service providers, and government agencies where the law requires it. Some providers may store information outside New Zealand; where that happens we take reasonable steps to make sure it's protected to a comparable standard.

Your authorisation

By submitting an enquiry you authorise us to collect, use and share your information for the purposes set out here, and to contact you by phone, text and email about your enquiry. Enquiring doesn't involve a credit check; we'll ask before any credit check happens.

If you give us information about another person, such as a co-director or guarantor, you confirm you're authorised to do so and that they know about this policy.

Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, use, change or disclosure. When we no longer need information for a lawful purpose, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you. To make a request or a privacy complaint, contact us through our contact page and mark it "Privacy request". We'll respond within the time the Privacy Act requires. If you're unhappy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
